I watched some of the UCLA vs Washington game tonight and came to the conclusion that Washington needs a better defense and the Bruins badly need a branding consultant. The new uniforms relegate the school’s long standing sky blue to an ill conceived trim on the shoulder and in the jersey numbers. Maybe somebody in the athletic department thinks switching to an overwhelming amount of dark blue will intimidate opponents; or maybe they got these cheap when Cal sent them back to the factory.

The Crimson Tide of Alabama; University Visual Identity Standards tell us that “Crimson” means Pantone 201 Red and that for use it should be “web-safe” #990000 (RGB:153,0,0) - that is what I am using here. Usually, white is the treated as the other school color, although gray is also named as a primary color in the identity standards.
